This bug was caused by us trying to define the compound theme colours at two levels. Compound colours must always be defined in compound so they look uniform, as rather unintuitively the colours for
--cpd-colorcan be different depending on whether you read them in compound directly or in a shared component. (Roughly, I investigated this 3 weeks back).The latest compound-design-tokens package contains an actual definition for
--cpd-color-gradient-critical-linear.NOTE: This fixes the buggy behaviour with the status bar, but there is also a project to redesign the bar again as we've decided to iterate further on it. Since this change is cheap and fixes a real user bug, I've submitted this PR with the expectation that the design is refactored later.
