This guide shows you how to clear your cache, cookies, and browsing history in the Microsoft Edge browser.
In the main screen, under the Clear browsing data heading, you will see a blue button labled Choose What to Clear - click on it.
You will be presented with a list of checkboxes for various things which can be deleted from Edge.
Choose what you would like to delete from Edge by keeping the checkbox ticked. Untick anything which you don't want to delete. You can scroll down to see a few extra possibilities.
These are the choices and what they mean:
Option name | Description |
---|---|
Browsing history | The list of websites you have visited in Edge |
Download history | The list of files you have downloaded. It will not actually delete those files |
Cookies and other site data | Cookies and other data storage will be deleted, this will log you out of most websites |
Cached images and files | A collection of temporary files that speed up your web browsing |
Passwords | Any saved usernames and passwords for websites will be deleted |
Autofill form data (includes forms and cards) | The values which Edge has saved and automatically puts into forms |
Site permissions | If you have granted any special permissions to websites (eg. To use your webcam or location) |
