Real-Time Sync
Automatically aligns projects, tasks, sub-tasks, tags, and team members between Timely and ClickUp. Changes in ClickUp appear in Timely within seconds.
Choose from six flexible setup options to match how your team already organizes work in ClickUp:
- Mapping: ClickUp Spaces, Folders, Lists, and Tasks sync to Timely Clients, Projects, and Tasks.
- Two-Way Time Entry Sync: Time entries logged in Timely against ClickUp tasks can be synced back to ClickUp's native time tracking (optional, off by default). Only Linked time entries sync back—unlinked hours stay in Timely. Time entries include duration and notes.
- Sub-Task Support: Tasks and sub-tasks created in ClickUp sync to Timely as individual tasks, with time logged against sub-tasks syncing directly back to ClickUp.
AI-Powered Automation:
- Time spent on ClickUp tasks is automatically tracked.
- Timely's AI learns from your logged entries to draft complete timesheets for your ClickUp activity
Customization:
You can set up the integration to fit your specific workflow by selecting the projects you want to sync and aligning your teams and clients.
- Select specific ClickUp Spaces to sync or import your entire workspace
- Auto-add task assignees to projects, or add all workspace users to every imported project (configurable during setup)
- Choose between "Clients & Projects" or "Projects Only" import settings

Requirements & Setup
- Timely: Premium, Unlimited, or Enterprise plan.
- ClickUp: Business plan recommended for full functionality. Free and Paid (non-Business) plans have limited time entry sync capabilities.
Existing data from ClickUp will be imported based on your settings.
What Gets Synced:
- ClickUp Spaces, Folders, Lists → Timely
- Clients and Projects (depending on chosen mapping profile)
- Tasks and Sub-tasks → Timely Tasks
- ClickUp Tags → Timely Tags
- Team Members → Timely Users
- Timely time entries → ClickUp time tracking (optional, off by default)
Task Sync Rules
Only time entries linked to a ClickUp task will sync back to ClickUp. Unlinked hours stay in Timely only. ClickUp tasks appear as "memories" on the Timely timeline when created, updated, or commented on. Hidden folders and archived lists are automatically skipped and won't appear in Timely. ClickUp guests and automated accounts are excluded from imports.
