CAESAREAN SCAR THERAPY
BENEFITS
Caesarean scar therapy is available from 8 weeks after birth, following your GP check and once your wound has fully closed and scabs are gone
This massage can be beneficial even decades after your birth
During your treatment we assess how your scar looks and feels, your breathing, diastasis recti, and how your scar may be impacting you physically and emotionally. Scar massage focuses on mobilising and remodelling tissue around the scar area and abdomen, decongesting this tissue, stimulating tissue change, and where appropriate for more mature scars, agitating the tissue to bring about change. It also focuses on calming and reconnecting you with your caesarean experience and your scar. We will discuss, then work on treatment goals, such as relieving tightness, reducing overhang, decreasing numbness, or reconnecting with your scar
Massage techniques for you to use at home are recommended at the end of each treatment. Doing these regularly after and between treatments maximises change
You are very welcome to bring your baby to your appointments
