About Manos Phi

Manos Phi (Μάνος Φ), also known as Emmanouil Farsarakis, is a Greek-American singer, pianist, and songwriter based in Scotland. His music blends soul, blues, and pop with Mediterranean influences, drawing on bilingual songwriting in English and Greek and the Greek έντεχno (entechno) tradition, where poetic lyricism meets folk and contemporary forms.

Rooted in classical training and shaped by gospel harmony, blues expression, and piano-led pop songwriting, Manos creates emotionally direct music that explores themes of identity, migration, resilience, and queer experience. His work is informed by years of performing, arranging, and leading ensembles, including fronting band projects and guest-conducting the Edinburgh Gay Men’s Chorus.

Now focused on his original material, Manos Phi is developing his debut album in collaboration with musicians and producers in Scotland and Greece. His first single, Dangerously Awake, will debut live at the Various Voices LGBTQIA+ choir festival in Brussels in 2026, marking the first public chapter of a wider body of work that celebrates cross-cultural storytelling and emotional honesty.

“I write songs about what it means to belong when you live between languages, cultures, and identities.
My music is a way of staying emotionally awake,
of holding tenderness, strength, humour and vulnerability in the same space.”
