Important to know
You can’t include both custom content and About Company at the same time in a message. You must click the custom content element to add it to a message draft; it won’t be automatically added to a message. About Company personalization is only available to LinkedIn Recruiter customers whose language is set to English.

The use of this feature is optional. You are still able to compose your own message content and send it.
We leverage the data that our customers and members have chosen to share with us on our platform, and use AI to draft personalized outreach messages. The following data fields are currently used for AI generation (where available):
- Recruiter information: Name, title, company name, company information, and custom content
- Candidate information: Title, candidate company, open to work, company follower, past applicant, and mutual connections
- Job information: Job title, job company, skills, location, workplace type, compensation, and employment type
Note: When you're drafting messages in a project with an active or draft job post, we get the job information above directly from the associated job. If there is no job post found within the project, we check if this information is available with Hiring Assistant (only available to a subset of customers at this time). If this is not found, we use the project details where available (job title, location, etc.). If you're drafting messages outside of a project, we assume that you're hiring for the recipient's primary or most recent position.

To get the best quality of AI generated messages, we recommend you draft messages when you're working within a project with an associated active or draft job post.
AI-Assisted Messages will be based on data from your profile, company information, and the job information. We also run all AI-created content through our existing content filters. While we have taken safety precautions, this feature may produce surprises or mistakes. If you use the AI-Assisted Messages feature on LinkedIn, you will still need to review the message draft for accuracy and make any necessary edits. You're still responsible for the message content that is sent, and you may be required by applicable law to add additional information, such as a salary range, other pay or benefits information, an applicant privacy notice, or other information.
We are building signals into our products to identify and address any potentially biased content. Additionally in our testing phase, we have optimized the AI model with direct feedback from real recruiters to address any discriminatory, abusive, or biased content.
As with all our products, our teams continuously assess our systems, and if harmful biases are identified, we will work to address them.
No, your message recipient will not be notified that AI assistance was used to craft the message.
If there is no associated job post found within the project, the AI model will first check the project context (project metadata, like title, location, etc). If there is no project info found, we will infer information about the opportunity based on the candidate’s current position.
You can check the performance of AI-Assisted Messages in the Recruiter InMail report. To view the InMail report from your Recruiter homepage, click Reports and select InMail from the dropdown.
LinkedIn uses a mix of GPT and in-house models for AI-Assisted Messages.
Yes. After drafting a message, open Draft settings and use the Message language dropdown to redraft in any supported language. In 1:1 messages, the draft is regenerated in the chosen language and Recruiter remembers that choice until you send or close the composer.
Recruiter Professional Staffing (RPS) FAQ
If the company you’re hiring for and your company are different, AI-Assisted Messages will include both companies in the message draft. If you choose to use About Company in Draft settings, AI-Assisted Messages will include information from the company you’re hiring for rather than your company. However, if you choose to include custom company information, AI-Assisted Messages will prioritize those details in the message.

AI-Assisted Messages frames each message from the perspective of your staffing agency. For example, it may draft a message to a candidate that says “Our client is looking for a Software Engineer to join their team.”
You can paste details about the role, team, or company into the Compose message window, and our AI will intelligently weave it into the message, ensuring it’s relevant and personalized.
AI-Assisted Messages creates a subject line based on how staffing recruiters prefer to engage candidates. The subject line is clear, compelling, and tailored to the role.
Bulk messages FAQ
Important to know
When you use AI-Assisted Messages to draft bulk messages, any edits you make to one draft apply only to that message, not to the others. Please review and edit each AI-generated draft individually. (Note: If you change the Message language in Draft settings while bulk messaging, messages will be redrafted in the new language for all recipients at once.)
Follow the steps in Enable or disable AI-Assisted Messages auto drafts in Recruiter to change your bulk message settings at the seat or contract level.
With AI-Assisted Messages, you can send an InMail message and follow-up message to up to 25 candidates at once. If you select a personalization element to include in the message, AI-Assisted Messages will include the message details relevant to those candidates. For example, if you select “Open to work”, AI-Assisted Messages will include relevant message details for candidates who have the Open to Work signal enabled on their profile.
No, the AI model will draft a unique message personalized to each candidate by default. Additionally, you can further edit personalization elements to include in the message after the initial draft has been crafted and AI-Assisted Messages will include the message details relevant to those candidates. For example, if you select “Open to work”, AI-Assisted Messages will include relevant message details for candidates who have the Open to Work signal enabled on their profile.
When you send a message to only one candidate from a bulk list, the remaining messages will be available for you to review or send in bulk to the remaining candidates.
Once you’ve clicked into the message for a specific candidate, their name in the To field will change from blue to gray to indicate you have reviewed the draft.
You can’t save a draft of a bulk message, but you can save an InMail as a template and send it later.
You can access any bulk messages you’ve sent in the Awaiting Reply folder in your inbox. If a candidate responds to your message, their message will appear in your Inbox.
You can’t add a candidate to a bulk message you’re currently working on.
If you’ve added a candidate to the bulk message draft and want to remove them, click the profile pictures at the top of the message draft and then click the

Touch up a template FAQ
When you draft a message using a template, you can use AI to refine it. AI-Assisted Messages will incorporate relevant candidate information into your draft to create a personalized message. This feature is available when drafting initial recruiting outreach messages that use an English template with more than 300 characters. At this time, LinkedIn Recruiter Professional Services customers can only touch up a template in 1:1 messages, not bulk messages.
If you can't touch up a draft message from a template, it may be because the template is fewer than 300 characters or not in English.
