Requirements for block list and allow list templates in Campaign Manager

Last updated: 1 month ago

You can download and populate the templates below to create a block list or allow list. You can choose your placements on:

  • LinkedIn - Block your ads from appearing on the right rail (right side) of specified LinkedIn profiles and Pages. Please note, you can only create a block list for profiles and Pages, not an allow list. This is currently only available on desktop.
  • LinkedIn Audience Network or CTV - Block or allow your LinkedIn Audience Network or CTV Ads from appearing on specified partner sites and apps.

Important to know

You can choose to apply your block lists or allow lists to all active campaigns in an ad account in the Brand Safety Hub, or you can choose to apply your list to individual campaigns during campaign creation. Keep in mind, ad account level block lists and allow lists are gradually being released, and you might not have access to this feature at this time.

General template requirements and considerations

Keep in mind these requirements and considerations to help you successfully upload your template.

LinkedIn profiles and Pages template specifications

When uploading your block list for LinkedIn profile and Pages placements, keep in mind:

  • When creating a block list for profiles and Pages, you can only create block lists, not allow lists.
  • Block lists for profiles and Pages currently don't work on groups, Showcase Pages, or School Pages.
  • Block lists operate at the root domain level. You don’t need to place a subdomain or subdirectory on your block list. For example, placing https://www.linkedin.com/company/linkedin/ on your block list will block all domains under this domain, such as https://www.linkedin.com/company/linkedin/about/ and https://www.linkedin.com/company/linkedin/posts/.
  • You can upload a list containing up to 10,000 profiles or Pages.
  • When adding a profile or Page, include the entire URL, starting with https://www.linkedin.com/ and ending with the profile or Page. For example, you would need to add a URL such as https://www.linkedin.com/in/[profilename]
  • Please note URLs for profiles and Pages can change over time. Advertisers are responsible for ensuring their block lists remain up to date and accurate.

How LinkedIn Audience Network block and allow lists work

LinkedIn Audience Network block lists and allow lists operate at a root domain level. Placing a subdomain or subdirectory on your block list or allow list will block or allow the entire root domain associated with the subdomain or subdirectory. Examples of this include:

  • Placing xyz.com on your block list or allow list will block or allow all domains under the root domain xyz.com.
  • Placing xyz.com/news on your block list or allow list will block or allow all domains under the root domain xyz.com.
  • Placing sports.xyz.com on your block list or allow list will block or allow sports.xyz.com.
