The Woods LunchTime Esports Program is open to students in grades 5 and 6 and is part of the Buchanan Area Esports Recreation League (B.A.E.R. League). This program provides students with an opportunity to build teamwork, communication, and leadership skills while participating in a fun and inclusive gaming environment.
Students participate in short, structured matches of popular games such as Super Smash Brothers in the fall and Mario Kart in the spring. Each practice includes a brief match followed by a guided discussion where students reflect on strategies, teamwork, and sportsmanship. Practices take place during lunch, allowing students to participate without impacting after-school activities.
Woods students also have the opportunity to compete in friendly matches with other Buchanan Area schools and conclude each season with the B.A.E.R. League Tournament. The program is open to all 5th and 6th grade students and is designed to be inclusive, welcoming participants of all experience levels.
