What in the world is With Joy, Janel?

This space is an act of love & care curated by me, Janel. I had a women’s organization from 2015 - 2019 called Sunflower Social that was pretty amazing. It was the companion organization to my blog, Sunflower in the Middle. As I type this, I realize that wellness was always a part of the mission of the organization although at the time the focus was women in their 20’s. Through that organization I was able to connect women through wellness and community. I ended the Sunflower Social due to my own burnout of not putting my wellness first. How could I have an organization about wellness when I was not treating myself well?

Now, at 30 - something, I became a health and wellness coach. With a new outlook on my wellbeing, I am building With Joy Designs, a joy-centered wellness studio designing spaces where joy and wellness thrive through coaching, events, and community. What I’ve learned so far in this journey of wellness, entrepreneurship, and life is that we all need community and support. That is why I created With Joy, Janel for wellness & joy advocates and those alike. This is our space. The newsletters will highlight the invites to upcoming communities, experiences, and recaps of joy-full events. Some communities that are in full swing:

Joy Walks (in-person in Baltimore and virtually) - Collectively, a monthly meet up to walk and talk about joy. Individually, a daily wellness practice to move and reflect on the joys of the day.

Community Conversations - Instagram Live Podcast about community topics

Joy Hour (in- person in Baltimore and virtually) in-person and virtually a pop up meet up for wellness and joy advocates (wellness/ life / relationship: coaches, founders, entrepreneurs, business owners, and organization leaders)
