Standard

Are you all ready to join in?

I hope everyone is well and having lots of fun. It has certainly been a very strange and eventual last 12 months for me personally. I am juggling a full time job and continuing my passion of quilting and sewing with you all.

I have decided to create a winter mystery quilt along, I do have some kits available which I have added to the website, you are also welcome to join us at https://www.facebook.com/groups/355989734552807/ and share in the progress and fun.

I have created some kits and they are available for $120 aus including postage within Australia. If you wish to purchase a kit you can do so here https://wehagodesigns.com.au/shop?olsPage=products%2Fwinter-mystery-quilt&page=1&sortOption=descend_by_created_at .

Now let me give you the details you will need if you want to use your own fabric and join us in this little venture.

Wow 1 mt (this includes your binding)
Dark 1.75mt (this inlcudes your borders)
medium a 45cm
medium b 25 cm
light a 50 cm
light b 45cm
background. 80cm

Now I do know a lot of you are excited to do this so i will give you the cutting instructions for the first clue and block . I do plan on trying to give you a block a week but it could run to nearer 2 weeks if i get snowed under at home and work.

Clue 1

I like my borders in one piece so i would like you to cut from your dark fabric 4 strips at 6.5″ for the whole length of your fabric not the width. then place these aside for later.

From your Wow fabric cut 32 x 3.5″ squares

Background 32 x 3.5″ and cut 16 x 4 7/8″ squares if you prefer to cut 5″ and trim later go ahead

Light A fabric cut 16 x 4/78″ squares

Medium b fabric Cut 16 x 3.5″

Light B Fabric cut 16 x 3.5″

Taking the 16 4 7/8 squares mark a line diagonally down the centre and sew a 1/4″ either side of line, then cut down the line and press carefully to create your 3.5″ hst units. If you chose to do the blocks larger trim down to size .

We will now sew these units together to form blocks. A total of 8

please use this as your guide. Feel free to ask any questions in our group.

legend Wow = yellow, Background = Grey, Light a = blue, Medium B = green (centres) Light B = turquoise.

I look forward to seeing all of your blocks coming together over the next week .

Until then have lots of fun

Wendy.
