Who am I?

Kia ora, I’m Sarah! I’m a sustainability consultant based in Aotearoa New Zealand. I also make (almost) all of my clothes!

I taught myself to sew while I was studying law. I had no idea what I wanted to do after graduating, only that I didn’t want to become a lawyer. Learning to sew opened my eyes to the realities of the fashion industry. This pushed me into my dream career, where I’m helping to create a better fashion industry for people and the planet!

What is The Weekend Project?

The Weekend Project started as an Instagram where I shared my projects as I taught myself to sew.

It’s now evolved to include this Substack so that I can share more high and lowbrow thoughts about sustainability, sewing and style.
