Fear of Failure

In a world filled with known personalities, talented influencers, extraordinary sportsmen, powerful politicians, and many more significant people life certainly gets hard sometimes, doesn’t it? At some point in life, maybe today, tomorrow, or ten years from now you might get this anxiety rush through your body filled with fear. The powerful fear of nothing but failure. Fear of failing at every step you take, fear of failing with every hike you make, fear of turning anything your hand’s touch into failure. Normalize this fear, it’s bound to happen someday. Turn this fear into positivity, turn this fear into hope, turn it into the desire of growing and evolving into the person you dream of becoming one day.

This constant thought of being confused when you hit rock bottom and the fear of failure pushing you further down, causing chaos within every cell of your body, causing a disturbance in every nook and corner of your mind is normal. Take a minute and think about how to turn this normality into a positive approach to life. Think about how to make these obstacles push you further to the top. Don’t forget that failure will always and forever help you succeed, maybe not right now but surely at some given point down the line. What’s the first thing that comes into your mind when you think of a butterfly? Colour, beauty, and brightness, right? An average butterfly lives for only fourteen days. Of course, it went through its set of falls, ups, and downs. It’s a living creature and there’s no living without trying and thriving harder every day. So, it gets fourteen days or less to experience its kind of failure, success, happiness, hope, and much more. An average human gets close to 60-80 years, doesn’t he? Then why waste a fraction of those many years thinking that you’re going to fail and never stand up? You are going to fall, you are going to fall hard, and maybe at some point it’ll break you to the bone but, you need to muster up every bit of energy your body has and stand up stronger than ever.

It’s about exploring yourself and finding what’s within you to become more powerful with every passing day. Letting people pull you down will only bring you closer to failure you might not be able to overcome. Breathe in and make sure that your failures aren’t permanent, make sure that they are replaced with success. That’s when you turn failures into what they are truly meant to be! Learning from your mistakes will only make the steps you take further stronger and better. With every mistake you make there’s always learning. It’s up to you if you turn that mistake into a success story or a failed version.

Don’t stop!

Do you often feel like you are slightly off track? Do you ever feel you could be doing much better? Do you feel your mind doubts every step you take? Do you often catch yourself wondering whether you are good enough for the world? Well, in the time we live in, all of this is pretty normal. No matter how normal the world makes it, your mind needs to gain the ability to normalise this without having second thoughts. To do a certain task or to keep yourself engaged in something it requires a certain amount of effort from your brain as well as a small fraction of effort from the outside world. It’s up to you how you decide to receive this small fraction of effort from the world. To sum this up into one word it’s nothing but motivation. To make it simpler, a reason or some kind of additional force that keeps you going, which encourages you to work better and do your best is called motivation.

The thriving force of ideas that fill your mind, the spark which ignites your eyes, and the energy which rushes through your body is what motivation does to you. Not only helping you to work harder and better but, also helping you gain more confidence and self-esteem. However hard you work without that external force pushing you forward the chances of you falling behind might increase. Train your mind in such a way that it seeks that external force and encourages itself as well as the rest of your body to work harder, strive harder, and accomplish every goal. This external force can comprise of anything, ranging from a person to a thing. It doesn’t matter what that force is as long as it makes you stand up on your own feet with your head held up higher than it was before the effect of the force.

People often forget how important of a role they can play in your life. It’s okay to remind them and make sure that their presence ignites a good change in you. It’s good to seek guidance, advice, and knowledge from anyone who you think can make a better alteration to your life. Their appropriate actions and words can reflect upon your life and make living life a lot easier, like a bright golden ray of sunshine. It might be a four-letter word or a ten-word sentence, the care with which it is delivered can motivate you and energise the capability within you to battle against all odds and outshine the rest. Don’t be afraid to seek help, ask for advice, or even use someone’s shoulder to help yourself grow stronger. Beat them battles by absorbing the motivation radiated by your loved ones around you. Explore every single cell in your body, expand your thinking capability, become better, outgrow the weakness within you, and become stronger with every passing day. Close your eyes and listen to the voices around you which help in bringing a smile onto your face. Take the same smile and make it into a path towards success. Don’t stop, don’t stop taking someone’s support, don’t stop someone from wiping your tears away, don’t stop hoping just yet, there’s a long way to go, and you will need every bit of it.

You

In a world filled with completion standing out, making a difference, and leaving a mark takes a lot. With 759.44 crore people on planet Earth it is hard to make it to the top, isn’t it? The question that lingers in my mind is that maybe it is not that hard? Well, it isn’t. Every step you take gets you closer to your dream. Every step you take gets you closer to standing out. Every step you take gets you to believe that this is possible. Every step you take needs an immense amount of something. Every step you take needs confidence. Before you take a step, question your confidence.

Confidence is putting all your faith into something and hoping it does better. Confidence is believing in yourself, your capabilities, and your strengths. Confidence is realizing that without believing in yourself success becomes unreachable. Confidence is making sure that you can make a difference. What people often tell us is the importance of confidence but, somewhere along the way, they have ignored the question of how to gain confidence? Confidence is not only about overcoming your obstacles, beating your battles, or facing your fears. It is about how you approach a million people and believe in the fact that you can lead the same million people. You are what matters, now and forever. The confidence you put up to the world will help you face the world. Just like an adrenaline rush, confidence must rush through every part of your body making you believe that it is possible, that anything is possible.

It might just be a sentence that comes out of your mouth but the amount of confidence it possesses showcases the depth of every word. Irrespective of what those words are the right amount of confidence will help you mould it into a success. Take the path down the lane of confidence and let it help you shape your life. No matter how small you start or no matter how small of a step you take, the amount of confidence in it increases your capability of making it much bigger someday.

Imagine waking up to a day when the sun doesn’t rise, imagine stepping into a world of darkness. Life might not come to a standstill but that golden light that shines upon every object making every bit of it seem so glorious would have disappeared. A life or a couple of words lack clarity without a touch of confidence. Confidence will always stand by you so, let it fight your battles, let it turn impossibles into possibles. What matters is you, how you face life, how you choose to speak with confidence, how you make every move with a soul full of confidence.

It’s a Right

One out of every three women in the world are either raped or assaulted in their lifetime. In Yemen, women are not allowed to leave their house without their husband’s permission. Vatican City, which is home to the Pope, does not allow its women to vote. In some parts of India, road safety rules do not apply to women. Why are only women obligated to these situations? Why do they deserve this sort of biased treatment? Why, because she was born with a vagina or because we’ve failed to put women and men on the same platform? We live in the twenty-first century where people are testing driverless cars but people are denying women the rights they deserve.

Half the world assumes that feminism stands for, dominance over men or supremacy of women over men. Well, that is pseudo feminism. There is a very well defined fine line between pseudo feminism and feminism. A feminist is someone who asks for an opportunity equivalent to that of a man in her country or society. So, if people feel today’s feminists are trying to demean men then those people are talking about someone who has not understood the soul purpose or meaning of feminism and they must also not refer to that person as a feminist. There are people questioning feminists, saying that men are abused too, why aren’t you all fighting for their rights? The answer to this is very simple, more women in this world are abused or raped or harassed than compared to men. That is where the equality is supposed to kick in.

Feminists are not people who disrespect men, and they do not say it is okay for a man to be abused but not a woman. Yes, some feminists are misusing this power for revenge, which is a complete set down and these women are not worth being called feminists. So before judging someone for fighting for their right it is important to understand the whole agenda behind that one single right. Yes, I am a feminist and there are people out there who are going to say that change is happening but it’s happening slowly right? Well, Mahatma Gandhi quoted that, “The day a woman can walk freely on the roads at night, that day we can say that India has achieved independence” and this was 72 years ago and we as women still fear to step out at night. This is not equality and it’s a right, every woman’s right to stand up for it.

A Nine-Letter Word

There are twenty-six alphabets in the English language, each one plays a unique role when put together with others to form different words. Our life is made up of so many of these words. But, one particular nine-letter word plays a very important role in every individual’s life. Maybe, you will agree with me if I say that life without this word is meaningless. The state of being content, satisfied or cheerful, all come together to form the word happiness. This isn’t just made up of nine letters, its made up of every feeling within every cell of your body. When you look at that particular someone or something, several mixed feelings rush through your body and this simultaneously overwhelms your heart and this defines happiness.

A simple phenomenon that is caused by reflection, refraction, and dispersion of light in water droplets results in a beautiful optical illusion. Well, I am talking about a rainbow. Have you ever thought of how these three scientific terms not only come together to result in such a mesmerising phenomenon but they bring smiles on thousands of faces? It is amusing how looking at seven colours form a semi-circle in the middle of the sky causes so much excitement to build up within you. Every time I spot one, I tend to stand still and stare at it till it magically vanishes into thin air. Just like how a rainbow brings so much happiness into our lives, I feel happiness is the only form of colour in our lives.

I do not have a count of the number of times I’ve heard the phrase, “Money cannot buy happiness”. Who are we to say that? There are a million people out there dying for one small piece of bread and getting this is their only source of momentary happiness. I doubt that we have the right to decide whether something should make someone happy or not. We’re humans, yes but, we vary from person to person and what makes you happy might not make the other person happy. The only way to seek this is by searching till you rest onto that something or someone causing butterflies to flutter in your stomach. Happiness might be just a nine-letter word but, this same nine-letter word has the power to decide whether you live or die.

Certainly not the End

I highly doubt that half of us even knew the meaning of quarantine before the start of this never-ending marathon. Back at the beginning of April when someone told me this might extend till June, I just laughed it off and thought to myself that this can never be true. I don’t think I ever imagined or prepared myself to take such a long break from my regular life. It’s like all of us were so used to our everyday schedules that it never occurred to any us that something like a pandemic might make our lives take a three-sixty degree turn. No one warned us or prepared us for this drastic change which not only turned out to be physically harmful but emotionally too. For the first thirty days everyone saw the positive outcome of this pandemic, like dolphins coming back into the Mumbai seas, the water in Venice becoming crystal clear, the pollution levels going down from toxicity to crisp, fresh air that everyone wanted to inhale. This fresh and positive feeling atmosphere did not seem to last that long, did it? Well, everything tends to fade from opaque to transparent with time and so did the positive side of this pandemic.

I never thought that I would go this long without using eyeliner or painting my nails or taking a ride on my Vespa or probably just stepping out. Every time I step out and breathe something other than the warm and slightly humid air of my house, my anxiety level increases. Even though this might seem completely normal, it is so hard not to overthink that you are prone to catch this free virus irrespective of the hundred precautions you take. This never-ending mixed feeling of anxiety and uncertainty leads to weird slightly emotional trauma. Maybe you can stop this virus from getting into your body but the struggle of stopping it from playing with your mind is a pretty difficult one. End of the day, it is not only about fighting this battle against the virus, but it is also about how you come out of this as a better, stronger, and more capable person. I feel this whole quarantine has made us stronger somehow, somewhere. It might take a while to figure out what you got from these quarantine days but I think this time period is never going to come back and probably trying to make it feel positive, trying to find happiness in what it is, is something you should be doing and treasuring for the future.

Every tab I opened or every post I looked at had an outburst of the repetition of the word productivity. This, not only scared me but it made me feel insecure about the amount of time I have in hand which is not playing any role in making my life better. Every time I kept thinking to myself and convincing myself that this quarantine is going to extend and I still have a lot of time to create some kind of awareness and difference within myself, I just lost more time. That time is not coming back and once I started to help myself and make this time period worth the while, I started to sense how hard this whole process is and how time runs away when you are trying to make the most out of it. It is not all about being productive it is about seeing that this is Certainly not the End, this is the start to something you would want to change within yourselves or probably just to make yourself a happier person. I feel you do not need to invest your time into something very solid or stressful, you can probably just find simple ways to find your hidden talents, capabilities, dreams, aspirations, and work on these tiny things to build the future you want. It is just about taking those small steps, one at a time and you will come out as a stronger and better person emotionally and physically. This will end one day and it is all about how much of a better person it has made you.

The Sky is the Limit

What are humans without dreams? What is living without dreaming? I don’t know about you but, I have always dreamt of so much that possibly might not even happen. Clouds are miniature liquid droplets and frozen crystals coming together to form beautiful sheer white translucent bodies. I feel, dreams are like clouds, so mesmerising yet so faint and they might vanish into thin air in just a few minutes. Ever wondered why we hardly remember what we dreamt of the previous night? Well, maybe it is meant to be kept that way and we are programmed in such a way that this encourages us to dream of things in reality that can actually come to life. Everyone grows up dreaming of what they aspire to become or the things they want to achieve in the future. Stressing ourselves due to the process of trying to achieve these dreams I think, we often tend to forget that dreams are meant to seem unachievable. Why is it even called a dream if it isn’t going to make you tremble in fear when you think of not being able to achieve it? The whole point of dreaming about your future is for it to make you want to attain every single bit of it. I think not limiting your dreams, not letting anyone tell you that something isn’t going to work, not making boundaries which are not going to push you to try harder to achieve what you dreamt of, is so important. The sky is the limit, I think you should dream so big that one day this dream makes the path towards achieving it so much easier.

The Need of the Hour

As I stepped into my teenage years, I was taught that periods are meant to be kept a secret, social media was unsafe, sitting and dressing properly are ethics that should be built within me. Why? Only because I am a girl. I highly doubt that it ever occurred to anyone that raising a girl is way easier than raising a boy. Maybe instead of telling us what to wear and how to carry ourselves, people should have spent a little time nurturing the male population. Well, this becomes The Need of the Hour. It has been centuries since women started learning these things, it has now become a necessity for men to walk down the same path.

Ever walked down a deserted street not at 11 pm but at 8 pm and felt a shiver crawl up your spine? Ever heard sounds of a bike or talks of multiple men? Ever walked into a bar where that someone’s eyes are cutting through you and objectifying you? Ever wanted nothing but constantly praying to get home safe while you sit in the auto with the winds making your hair blow into your face and making your vision blurrier than ever? Being one amongst the second-most densely populated country in the world, yet feeling helpless when that someone’s presence or movement scares you to death. I am so sure, that almost every woman or girl out there has felt this. It might even seem to be getting normalised around here but wait, let me enlighten you that none of this is normal, none of it.

The Need of the Hour

The Need of the hour, in simpler words the present and I mean to say that I want to talk about the present and everything we are putting ourselves through. I often catch myself stressing and overthinking about the future, that I tend to forget to live in the present. The amount of flashing thoughts that strain above my head are never-ending. But, the constant thought that all of this is normal always lingers in my mind. I want to make everything more optimistic, I want to feel the positive rush of happiness through my body and the only way I can do this is by living in the present. I want to wake up to gushing chilly winds, with a hint of sun rays reflecting upon the window, and I want to welcome the day with a smile so wide almost reaching my eyes. Maybe, this can happen only if I stop overthinking about everything other than what’s happening this minute. The past and the future are never going to leave your mind, it is always going to remain a part of you. The only way you can sense and live every moment in the present is by closing your eyes upon the former two. So stop it, stop letting it occupy your mind when you can open your mind to a series of more bright and happy thoughts.
