โ€œBitcoin is doomed because miners are strugglingโ€ ๐Ÿ˜ญโ›๏ธ

Youโ€™ve seen the posts.
Energy expensive โšก๏ธ
Rewards shrinking ๐Ÿ“‰
Mining companies stressed ๐Ÿ˜ฌ

But hereโ€™s what most people miss ๐Ÿ‘‡

If miners quit, Bitcoin auto-adjusts.
Difficulty drops.
Remaining miners earn more.
Blocks keep coming every ~10 minutes โฑ๏ธ

Weโ€™ve seen this before.
China ban ๐Ÿšซ
Bear markets ๐Ÿป
Mining stressโ€ฆ Bitcoin survived.

Companies can struggle.
The protocol keeps running ๐Ÿ”—

๐Ÿšจ Stablecoin Users in Africa โ€” Read This, and read it well, coz money is involved ๐Ÿค“๐Ÿ’ธ

Stablecoins (USDT/USDC) promise fast, low-cost transfers without volatility, right?! โœ…
But, converting to local fiat? Thatโ€™s where the real cost hides, and where Tether and Circle make bank ๐Ÿ‘€

A January 2026 benchmark found:
๐Ÿ‘‰ Africa is the most expensive region for stablecoin-to-fiat swaps. As if paying for water wasn't hard enough๐Ÿ˜

๐Ÿ’ฐ The cost?
Itโ€™s called the spread (in bps).
* 100 bps = 1%
So a 300 bps spread = you lose ~3% per swap.

๐Ÿ‡ฐ๐Ÿ‡ช for example
Mid-rate โ‰ˆ 129 KES per $1
With ~300 bps spread, you may get ~125 KES.
That ~4 KES difference? Thatโ€™s the hidden fee.

Bottom line: Stablecoins are already very viable in Kenya โ€” but your provider choice matters
๐Ÿšจ Crypto Update: Coinbase Outage, and since everyone is going out, I might as well do so myself๐Ÿ˜

Coinbase experienced a temporary disruption that paused buying, selling, and transfers for some users...some๐Ÿ˜
But, "customer funds remained safe."

Why this matters for Africa ๐ŸŒ๐Ÿ‘‡
Even with strong local innovation, much of Africaโ€™s crypto activity still depends on global exchanges for liquidity and access.
Coinbase isnโ€™t the top platform in most African markets (many prefer P2P + local payment rails ๐Ÿ’ณ๐Ÿ“ฒ), but this highlights something important:

โšก๏ธ As adoption grows in Kenya and beyond, building resilient local infrastructure is just as important as global access.

๐ŸŒฝ๐Ÿšœ 22% of GDP. 4% of bank credit. Make it make sense.

Agriculture feeds Kenya ๐Ÿ‡ฐ๐Ÿ‡ช
KSh 3.6 TRILLION to GDP.
40%+ of jobs.

But CBK data shows it gets just 4.4% of total bank lending ๐Ÿคฏ
Meanwhileโ€ฆ real estate has higher NPLs ๐Ÿ‘€
So risk isnโ€™t the real excuse.

Hereโ€™s the twist ๐Ÿง โšก๏ธ
The problem isnโ€™t farmers.
Itโ€™s an outdated credit infrastructure.

๐ŸŒณ What if a coffee tree could be collateral?
๐Ÿ“ฆ What if warehouse receipts were tokenised?
๐Ÿ’ธ What if loans were programmable & data-backed?

Thatโ€™s exactly what tokenisation unlocks.

At Project Mocha, they've already mapped 2,000 coffee trees in Embu and put their economic rights on-chain.

Translation?
Cleaner USDC โ†”๏ธ KES rails. Less friction. More speed.
Theyโ€™re already in talks with Kenyan regulators as VASP rules take shape ๐Ÿ›

And the numbers?
๐Ÿ’ฐ $75B+ USDC in circulation
๐Ÿ” $11.9 TRILLION in on-chain volume

Africaโ€™s stablecoin debate ๐Ÿ‡ฐ๐Ÿ‡ช๐Ÿ‡ณ๐Ÿ‡ฌ

โ†’ Some say pegging to weak currencies only digitizes inflation.
โ†’ Others say itโ€™s financial freedom , payrolls, remittances & trade without the dollar.

Nigeria has cNGN. Kenya is working on cKES.

๐Ÿ’ญSo do we really need African stablecoins?

Humans have always tried to predict the future ๐Ÿ‘€

From prophets and oraclesโ€ฆ
to blockchain prediction markets.
Now people trade questions like:

โ€ข Will Bitcoin hit $100K?
โ€ข Will oil spike if Hormuz closes?
โ€ข Who wins the next election?

Each outcome becomes a tradable contract.
One trader reportedly made $553K on a geopolitical bet ๐Ÿ’ธ
Prediction markets turn belief into price.

A Crypto section has appeared inside the SasaPay dashboard ๐Ÿ“ฑ

The interface shows an option called โ€œBuy Crypto (TRC20)โ€.

This suggests the platform may be testing a crypto purchase feature, possibly integrated with a third-party provider.

What we know so far:
โ€ข The feature is not live yet โš ๏ธ
โ€ข No official announcement has been made
โ€ข It may support TRC20 tokens like USDT

If launched, it could allow users to buy crypto directly from a Kenyan fintech platform.

But for now, the feature appears to be under development or testing.

A massive swap on Aave turned into a 99.9% loss in seconds.

A crypto trader lost nearly $50 million after attempting a huge token swap on Aave ๐Ÿ‘€

The trader deposited $50.4M in USDT and tried to convert it into AAVE tokens.

But the trade hit thin liquidity pools, causing extreme slippage.

Hereโ€™s what happened ๐Ÿ‘‡

* $50M USDT swapped to WETH
* Huge price impact ๐Ÿ“‰
* Final swap returned only 324 AAVE tokens

The result:
About $36K received from a $50M trade ๐Ÿ˜ฌ

The interface had warned about 99% slippage, but the trade was still confirmed.

Aave later offered a $600K fee refund, which is rare in DeFi.

The lesson?
Large trades in decentralized markets can trigger massive price impact.

Africaโ€™s Payment Walls Are Cracking ๐ŸŒ๐Ÿ’ธ

Kenya and Rwanda take a step toward easier cross-border payments.

Sending money across African borders is still slow and expensive ๐Ÿ˜ฉ

Different rules. Different licenses. Different systems.

Now ๐Ÿ‡ฐ๐Ÿ‡ช Kenya and ๐Ÿ‡ท๐Ÿ‡ผ Rwanda are changing that.

A new framework could let payment companies operate across both markets with fewer regulatory barriers ๐Ÿ‘€

If it works, it could mean:
โšก faster cross-border payments
๐Ÿ’ฐ lower costs
๐Ÿ“ˆ easier fintech expansion

Small step. Big signal.
