This makes me glad I don't have siblings

Sisters is an interactive 3D experience that instantly immerses you in its chilling horror. Utilizing the simple VR peripheral, Google Cardboard, it transforms your Android phone into a portal that delivers you into its terrifying two minute story.

Wrap your self in the fear

Holding up Google Cardboard to your face it’s hard to believe that it can transport you anywhere. Indeed, starting to use it, the scariest thing I can imagine it doing is dropping my phone on the floor. But - once you have everything calibrated, strap your headphones on, and hold the view up to your face – the effect is surprisingly immersive.

In Sisters you begin sat on a sofa, in a comfortable room, with a TV in front of you. This perspective is perfect, as it prevents you stumbling around your room in the real world and encourages you to explore the range of movement available to you from a static position – which is a full 360 degrees in every direction, controlled by the movement of your head.

Auto-scares

Looking around you notice everything in the room. A window, two dolls on the mantelpiece, something under a sheet behind you, and a flickering TV in front of you. Then, after the app can see you have taken in everything around you, there is a blinding flash of lightening and you are plunged into darkness.

This is when the scares start – the scampering footsteps, flashes of light, and… well I wouldn’t want to ruin it. Simply to say, despite having played a great many horror games, having these events automatically play-out out around me was one of the most unexpectedly impactful experience I have had in a while.

And yes, everyone in the office heard me swear at the final shock.

Enjoy your friend's fear

Sisters is a wonderful, and affordable, VR experience. It is incredibly short, but as it’s free that doesn’t matter one jot. Plus, even after playing it until even it most terrifying moments have become mundane, you can still force your friends to play and giggle as the squeak in fear in the middle of a well-lit room.
