New Identity Providers

Use the Home Organization Bootstrap form to register a new Identity Provider with the AAI Resource Registry. After the registration was approved, access to the Resource Registry using this new Identity Provider will be granted.

Purpose

The AAI Resource Registry manages information about AAI Resources and Home Organizations participating in the Switch edu-ID and the Switch edu-ID Test federations. This information is used to generate federation metadata, attribute release policy and other files required by the participating organizations.

Resource Registry Guide

Please consult the Resource Registry Guide in order to learn more about some of the basic principles of this service. The guide is meant as a complementary source of information that extends the examples and instructions given on the Resource Registry itself.

Intended Audience

The Resource Registry's target audience are people who administer one or more AAI services. These users then have to register their service with the Resource Registry and thus are assigned one or more of the following roles:

• Resource Administrators
• Home Organization Administrators
• Resource Registration Authority Administrators

Requested Attributes

In order to get access to the Resource Registry an Identity Provider must be able to release the following attributes for a user:

• Given Name
• Surname
• E-Mail Address - To send notification emails
• Unique ID - To identify users
• Home Organization
• Home Organization Type
• Business phone number (optional) - To let a Resource Registration Authority administrator verify embedded certificates out of band
• eduPersonTargetedID/persistentId (optional) - For migration purposes. This attribute may replace the Unique ID in the future
• Affiliation
• Telephone number (optional) - For emergencies and for confirming self-signed certificates
• Mobile number (optional) - For SMS token authentication
