Tackling single use plastic waste in NI

Water refill stations present an opportunity to move away from single use plastics

REthink Water: have a thirst for change

REthink water is an education based solution to single use plastic water bottles in Northern Ireland.

Our concept is that through the support of businesses across Northern Ireland, we can install water refill stations in public spaces across all council areas in NI.

The aim of our campaign is to provide free, clean and accessible drinking water to the public in an effort to reduce the purchase of single use plastic water bottles. Users of the stations will be able to scan a QR code, linking them to an educational video about plastic waste.

People in Northern Ireland want change! Click here to read the results of our survey that demonstrates that there is a real demand for water refill stations in public places.

One million single-use plastic bottles are bought every minute across the globe. This number is only going to increase and most of these bottles will end up in landfill.

Water is also important for our health and access to safe drinking water is a human right. For both of these reasons, people deserve to have access to clean and reliable water refill stations.

Work with us to be part of the solution! Northern Ireland is lagging behind most other countries when it comes to providing water refill stations in public spaces. We want to change that. If you want to be involved in this refill stations revolution, please get in touch!
