Flying Attack

Flying Attack History

Flying Attack held their first performance in Batu City and Malang City, Indonesia, during a mini studio terrace event in 2005 in Batu City. As a trio with guitar, stand-up bass, and drums led by vocalist, guitarist, and songwriter Rob Coolper, the band’s sound is indorock, a unique blend of mid-century punk and rock ‘n’ roll, keroncong, surf rock, rockabilly, mountain hillbilly, psychobilly, and grindcore, emphasizing songwriting and melody. Three albums were prepared and released in 2008 by Morstone, hindered by technical issues, starting with their debut titled “stone city fire,” written in 2006. This continued until the end of 2013 when they completed the cycle for ‘Music From Regions,’ produced by Morstone. The album produced the single “Stone City Fire” (remastered-2013 & 2025). Following that, they participated in the ‘Malang Rockabilly’ event on Jl. Soekarno Hatta Malang in April 2014, and ‘You Never Feel Alone’ at Pabrik Pari Batu City in May 2014, alongside various bands from Malang City and Batu City. Their highest visibility was achieved by continuously creating work, despite numerous challenges and technical constraints, yet they have always remained outsiders who are not very visible in the mainstream, with authenticity never compromised.
