Hey y’all...
I’m an award winning journalist and producer reporting on wrongful convictions, the criminal legal system and social issues. In ‘22 I won the Pulitzer Prize for hosting, producing, reporting the podcast “Suave” on PRX. “Suave” also won the 2022 International Documentary Award and I was nominated for the 2022 Livingston Award for National Reporting on “Suave.”
I am currently the host and producer of the Signal and Anthem award winning podcast “Wrongful Conviction with Maggie Freleng.” in 2024 I won the the iHeart Media Social Impact award for my work on “Wrongful Conviction,” yada, yada yada. That’s who I am and being here you get:
Updates on my work! I’ll email when I have something new to check out. You can see all my work at one place on my website and find out more about me HERE...EXCEPT..
This is the only platform you can find two of my older podcasts: “Murder in Alliance” and “Unjust and Unsolved.” The original forms only exist here, I took them down elsewhere, because both of them have taken on new life and I didn’t want confusion.
MIA is now “Death and Deceit in Alliance;” a creators cut 5 years later. DDIA is a tighter, cleaner version, editing out bad leads, certain characters and rabbit holes (as it was a real-time investigation) and cutting to the point. I’m SO excited to re-release this. It was strategically planned with the release of my latest podcast “Graves County.” Take a listen to the intro of either to hear why. . .and hopefully KEEP listening :p (The whole messy MIA investigation and two bonus episodes — Veteran Forensic Expert and a Live episode from Alliance — only exist here).
UJUS became “Wrongful Conviction,” my flagship podcast. A new season with me is coming in the first part of 2026 and i’m so excited! Subscribe to the WC feed here.
