About Me

Hi and welcome to my website, Machine Learning and Me 👋! I’m a PhD student in the UCSF–UC Berkeley Computational Precision Health (CPH) program, currently working with Dr. Rima Arnaout on deep learning methods for cardiac image analysis. My research sits at the intersection of machine learning, computer vision, and medical imaging, with a focus on building robust and clinically meaningful AI systems.

Previously, I worked at the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus under Prof. Jayashree Kalpathy-Cramer, where I contributed to ophthalmic-image-focused data science projects, including image registration, segmentation, and longitudinal disease analysis, working closely with clinicians and translational research teams.

I also worked at Moorfields Eye Hospital under Dr. Nikolas Pontikos, on projects SynthEye and Eye2Gene, which focus on next-generation phenotyping inherited retinal diseases using deep learning and generative AI.

Do check out my first blog post “Hello World!” about how I got into this field!

A little bit more about me…

I am originally from Bangalore, India, but I’ve spent most of my life abroad. I spent around 10 years in Dubai, after which my family and I moved to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia in 2013.

Aside from my interests in AI and technology, I am an Indian Classical musician, having pursued the art since the age of 5. I have performed in India, UAE, Malaysia, Singapore, and London and also have a professional grading from All India Radio. Finally, I am a connoisseur of memes and spend my free time browsing Facebook and Instagram for the latest memes or watching comedy videos on YouTube.
