Hello! I’m Lucy and I’m mostly an illustrator and motion graphics maker. I make my living drawing and making things move on screens (motion graphics and VFX for TV and advertising). I also write. I have written a couple of books (Eat Portugal with my pal Célia Pedroso, now in five languages, and How Not to Starve in Portugal/Como Não Morrer de Fome em Portugal), was a newspaper columnist for a few years (Observador) and on the radio (Antena 1, RTP) for a bit, being the obnoxious English one with opinions.

I have lived in Portugal since the last century, and 97.8% of my life is Portuguese. I will never leave Portugal, unless I win a remote island in the Artic Circle in a lottery. I have zero patience for people who won’t learn the language. I write about anything that occurs to me.

I sometimes forget the English word for simple things, like table.
