What is binzie?

Hi, I’m Lindsay— growing up it was “Lindsay Binzie,” “Lindsay Binz,” or simply, “The Binz.” The playful nickname still brings me back to my core: a girl who loves to create and collect.

I used to go beachcombing with my grandma Madeline when I was young. We would survey the details of the shoreline intently, marveling at the myriad colors and shapes nature had to offer. At the day’s end, I would sift through the contents of my pail, meticulously curating a collection of chosen specimens to bring home— to string on necklaces, to paint, to arrange on shelves. The rest I would lovingly discard on a wooden bench near the beach entrance, hoping they’d find appreciation in someone else’s eyes.

Curating the Art and Home categories at Etsy means that I am still perpetually discovering more treasures than I could possibly keep for myself. It’s also struck me that, though navigating the digital shelves is second nature to me (it is my job, after all), many struggle to find the right keywords and methods to uncover what truly speaks to them. My mission? To unearth these gems from the digital abyss and bring them to you, to share beautiful things with others who might find them special, too.

That's why I'm here—to share my favorite finds and spill all my search “secrets” so you can discover your own unique treasures (“teach a man to fish,” and all that). To sift through the sand, dump out my pail, and survey the contents together.
