About Me
I’m a software engineer who lives in Connecticut and works in NYC. Over the years, I have worked for Big Tech, Big Finance, a hedge fund, and even a couple of startups.
Ever since I was 12, I have had an insatiable appetite for history books. However, history is by no means my only area of interest. Politics and philosophy follow close behind. Science is another area of interest. Recently, I have made a foray into psychology, especially where it intersects politics and philosophy, but also in a “pure psychology” sense.
My philosophy for book reviews is Truth First.
I will always give my honest assessment of the book regardless of whether the author’s worldview aligns with mine or not. Along similar lines, I will never gear my review to try and maximize subscriber count if there is a conflict with Truth First.
Specifically, I will state what my honest positions are even if I think it is in contrast with those of the majority of my subscribers. I trust that integrity will win out in the end. At the same time, if you are looking for someone who is reviewing books from the perspective that is always on “your side,” you will likely not find that person in me. Although I am definitely conservative/“right-wing” overall, some of my views, such as atheism and having a harsh view of Israeli history, I know are not in line with the majority conservative view. If you are “on the left” or in the center, you are more than welcome too.
With all of that said, if you are still with me: Welcome aboard! Let’s have some serious discussions about books along with some serious fun!
