You pray mentioning your moon nakshatra to get peace of mind because moon represents mind.

Why do you go and pray rounding the nine grahas in the temple? because THAT.IS.ASTROLOGY. Yet there are people saying they don’t believe in astrology while doing all these in the name of culture and religion. Vedic astrology plays major role in entire Hinduism and Indian culture. That’s why its called Vedic.

Let’s go back into Puranas and Grahas. The 9 Grahas in the temple represents the nine planets in the Vedic astrology, which is Sun, Moon, Jupiter, Venus, Saturn, mars, mercury and Rahu Ketu (moon’s shadow). All these planets play their part in each human’s life and that it what we called Vedic Chart. Rahu Ketu doesn’t have physical planet in the solar system because they are shadows of moon which is we called as Eclipse. Even in this era the astrology is there and doing their part.
