Decked out in blue shirts—the color of the month—Pathways to Hopeteamed up with Redding Rancheria to set up a display in recognition of the issue. 686 wooden cutouts of children holding a blue pinwheel, the symbol of the cause, were placed on the lawn in front of Win-River Mini Mart in Redding. So why the number 686? It's the number of substantiated child abuse cases in Shasta County in 2021.

Sitting in his chamber down a long hallway in the Matheson Courthouse, beyond the doors of the Utah Supreme Court, Judge Constandinos “Deno” Himonas talked to 2News about what makes him tick. “I will preach the gospel of access to justice at any time to anyone who will listen,” he said. Himonas has been called a “legal rebel,” in this case, with a cause – working to make access to justice affordable and accessible to all.

Dr. Lincoln Nadauld does all three, and the combination is likely leading him to save lives, and someday prevent cancer. “Dr. Nadauld saved my life,” Christine Woodbury told 2News. “I was given 3 months to live, and that was 14 months ago. ” She has battled cancer four times, and lives to play another day at their family property in the mountains. “I’m healthy, I’m happy. I feel better than I have in years and years,” Woodbury said.
