[Suggestion] Make a Windows Installer?

I love this application, and use it almost exclusively to the official Unity Hub! I do wish I had an option to have a proper installer though. I like how it is legitimately one file, but having stray EXEs on my computer makes me go slightly crazy inside.

Love the project nonetheless, and thank you for doing something the Unity Devs couldn't.

yeah that is reasonable and sounds possible to do rather easily.

• make appveyor -msi installer generator script
• make github actions msi installer script
• upload exe .zip AND .msi as separate releases?
• uninstaller (usually comes with those installers?)
• *** cancelled: to use MSIX, cannot write files into that executable folder (currently it saves init script, custom styles, custom icon there..), would need to rewrite loading/saving those files into %LOCALAPPDATA%\Packages<PackageFamily>\LocalState\ ?? **this creates msix only, cannot double click it to install
• *** cancelled test innosetup *this creates exe only
• upgrade version code somehow persistantly
• test https://marketplace.visualstudio.com/items?itemName=VisualStudioClient.MicrosoftVisualStudio2022InstallerProjects
• fix settings between versions if change build version, loses current settings (because of Settings.Default..) #193

looks like WIX requires monthly opensource license fee now..
(if you use their prebuild tools, which github actions does apparently)
