This allows ufo2ft to easily catch the error and display a meaningful error message.

May I suggest fixing CI by dropping Python 2 support? :) No idea why it tries to grab pytest 5.2.2 when Python 2 support is limited to 4.x. |

yep py2 tests can be removed. This can happen in this PR too |

to fix the issue on appveyor you can add I'd suggest to drop py2 in a separate PR |
