The Texas A&M Institute of Data Science (TAMIDS) is dedicated to advancing the field of data science through innovative research, education, operations, and partnerships. Our mission is to foster interdisciplinary collaboration that explores cutting-edge domains such as:

TAMIDS hosts several thematic labs that drive innovation in specific areas of data science. These labs serve as hubs for research, education, and community building:

• Agriculture Smart Data Lab: Applying data science to optimize agricultural processes.
• Data Justice Lab: Exploring the role of data in addressing social justice issues.
• Digital Twin Lab: Developing digital twin technologies for real-world applications.
• Knowledge Development Lab: Advancing machine learning and AI-driven insights.
• Operational Data Science Lab: Leveraging institutional data for operational improvements.
• Scientific Machine Learning (SciML) Lab: Creating physics-aware ML algorithms.
• Urban AI Lab: Enhancing urban infrastructure through AI and digital twins.
• Visualization & Information Design (VIVID) Lab: Innovating in data visualization techniques.

TAMIDS supports a range of academic initiatives to equip students with in-demand data science skills:

• Master of Science in Data Science: A 30-credit hour interdisciplinary program offered in collaboration with four academic departments—Computer Science & Engineering, Electrical & Computer Engineering, Mathematics, and Statistics.
• Data Science STEW: Seminars, Tutorials, and Educational Workshops designed to enhance learning.
• Scholarships & Grants: Supporting student activities, travel grants, and more.

TAMIDS is committed to building a vibrant data science community by:

• Organizing workshops, seminars, and conferences.
• Offering sponsorships for student activities and programs.
• Providing resources for interdisciplinary collaboration across Texas A&M University.
