Revert to closed if sponsorship falls

What happens if you cross your threshold for open, then later your sponsorship drops off?

Is it OK to close it again?
Personally if there is ongoing maintenance I would not publish updates publicly, maybe leave existing version open but fixes go behind sponsor wall again till you're over threshold.
