Hi! I really love what you’ve created, it’s such a great resource! I was wondering if you might consider adding different speed options to make it even more accessible and inclusive.

Here are a couple of reasons why I think this could be helpful. It would support individuals who are new to learning ASL. Not everyone was born deaf; some people experience hearing loss later in life, are hard of hearing, or are still improving their ASL skills. While I know this feature is mainly focused on live translation, I believe adding adjustable speeds could make the app even more accessible and supportive for a wider range of users.

If you want to take it a step further, it might be really helpful to program the detection language box to highlight the word currently being signed, so non-ASL users can easily follow along with the interpretation as the live model signs.

The current signing speed may be too fast for new learners or users who are still developing ASL fluency. Adding speed controls and highlighting improves accessibility, inclusivity, and comprehension without affecting the existing live‑translation workflow.

Proposed Implementation Details
Add a UI control for selecting signing speed

Introduce a playback‑rate multiplier in the signing animation engine

Add logic to sync the currently signed word with the text output

Update state management to track active word index

Add accessibility labels for screen readers

Include basic tests for timing and highlighting behavior
