This directory contains Paden Tomasello's CS61B Project 2. The project specifications can be found here:

https://inst.eecs.berkeley.edu/~cs61b/fa12/labs/proj2.pdf

*Note: This project was competleted on UC Berkeley's instructional machine and may need auxilary resources to compile and run.

Although some of what's in here might seem mysterious to you, try to
understand what it's all for. Don't be afraid to ask us about it.

CONTENTS:

ReadMe This file.

Makefile For you Unix users: this provides some simple
compilation and testing support: make to compile,
make clean to remove reproducible files, make check
to compile and run Junit tests.

test-tracker A simple blackbox-testing script.

staff-version A file identifying the current version of the skeleton.
See note on merging at the end.

The util package (directory util):

Set2D.java The API for your set-of-points class. Don't
                          change.

SimpleSet2D.java An example of an implementation of Set2D.

QuadTree.java The skeleton for your quadtree implementation.
Don't add any public or protected methods
or constructors. Otherwise, change at will.

UnitTest.java Skeleton JUnit tests for the util package.
                          Change at will.

Reporter.java Utility for managing debugging and other
                          informational output.

Makefile Refers to Makefile in outer directory.

The tracker package (directory tracker):

Main.java Skeleton for the real main program.

Chooser.java Provides a pseudo-random oracle for deciding which
                          way the driver should turn.

UnitTest.java Skeleton for JUnit testing of the tracker package.

Makefile Refers to Makefile in outer directory.

The testing directory

  trivial.trk, badtest0.trk
Input files for blackbox testing. REMINDER:
These are samples only. They DON'T
                          constitute adequate testing.

trivial.std Output that is supposed to result from trivial.trk.

MERGING UPDATES FROM A SKELETON
-------------------------------

When new versions of the skeleton come out (it's bound to happen), you
can merge in changes to the skeleton with changes you've made by using
the following procedure:

1. Commit the current version of your project (hw commit). Use hw
status to make sure everything you think is checked in really is.

2. Look at the file staff-version in your directory, which should say
something like "proj2-N." (where N is some number). This represents
the last version of the skeleton you merged in our checked out.

3. In your project 2 directory (NOT a subdirectory!) merge changes
with this command (on the instructional servers):

       svn merge $STAFFREPOS/tags/proj2-N $STAFFREPOS/proj2

4. You may have conflicts (places where both the skeleton and your
version have changed in conflicting ways). SVN will prompt you to
resolve these (in the conflicted file, they will be marked with
   >>>>> and <<<<). You can do it later (postponing resolution until
after the merge), editing the file to what you want, and then use
   the command

         svn resolve --accept working FILE

(where FILE is a conflicted file) to tell SVN you've fixed the conflict
(svn status will tell you about remaining conflicted files).

5. When any conflicts are removed, hw commit the changes caused by the
   merge.
