I am using mac m1 and prebuilt pyqt5 is missing here, but a pyqt6 wheel is readily available, so i decided to upgrade the script to support a newer version.
I have applied the automatic code style in the first commit with the latest PyCharm (to fix spaces and spaces indentation mixing)
In the second commit I made a bunch of amendments to comply pyqt6 interface changes and a few changes to make code a bit cleaner if you don't mind.
It would be nice if you could be interested.
