Welcome to netspeed - performing network speed test between any 2 hosts. Useful to verify, for example, that you have a gigabit connection along all the route. On one host (say, 10.0.1.8), run a server: % netspeed -d On other hosts, run: % netspeed 10.0.1.8 Uploading to 10.0.1.8:24336: 895.990 Mbps (1119 MB in 10 s) Uploading to 10.0.1.8:24336: 896.973 Mbps (2242 MB in 20 s) Uploading to 10.0.1.8:24336: 894.552 Mbps (3354 MB in 30 s) ^C Stats for 10.0.1.8:24336: 893.540 Mbps (3661 MB in 32 s) or: % netspeed 10.0.1.8 -t 3 Stats for 10.0.1.8:24336: 75.524 Mbps (336 MB in 3 s) The output on the server is: % netspeed -d [2018-03-19 18:55:30] Listening to port 24336 [2018-03-19 18:55:40] Connected client 10.0.1.1 [2018-03-19 18:56:12] Stats for client 10.0.1.1: 893.421 Mbps (3661 MB in 32 s) [2018-03-19 18:56:12] Disconnected client 10.0.1.1 [2018-03-19 18:56:52] Connected client 10.0.5.22 [2018-03-19 18:56:55] Stats for client 10.0.5.22: 75.422 Mbps (336 MB in 3 s) [2018-03-19 18:56:55] Disconnected client 10.0.5.22 Usage: % netspeed -h Usage: netspeed [OPTIONS] HOST|-d Perform network speed check against remote server Options: -h --help show this usage -d --daemon start server -v --verbose be verbose -q --quiet be silent; second -q disables errors & stats too -p --port P server port to use (default: 24336) Client-only options: -s --size N limit sending data to size N (default: endless) -t --time S limit sending data to S sec (default: endless) HOST is server name or ip; this is mandatory in client mode.
