I'm an ambitious and passionate Full Stack Junior Developer, looking to direct my love for code towards a career in web development.
Having completed 16 intensive weeks of learning at Makers Academy, I have become hugely passionate about writing clean, maintainable and tested code. My natural curiosity helped me learn more than I ever thought possible in that amount of time, and I loved every aspect of it.
I am now looking for a role where I can continue to grow as a developer, in an environment of like-minded, passionate people.
As a journalist I have proven my abilities to communicate not only verbally, but also visually and in written language. As both a freelancer, and intern / staff member at magazines and newspapers, I have had to cooperate and work closely with a broad variety of people from different departments. These experiences have prepared me to deal with most complicated situations in a mature and efficient manner.
I have, with great success, been able to transfer and use my ability to effectively find answers to questions while learning how to code. Something I have found to be crucial as both a journalist and a developer.
I have developed a great understanding of how to present visual material both in printed format and online. I have been part of layouting several magazines, and while doing an 18-month internship at the Danish Daily, Politiken, I was part of the team that designed the photographic section of their website.
I am educated and proficient in almost any genre within photography and I have a great understanding of, as well as professional experience with, videography.
I have received several awards for my work, among others are:
-
1st prize and title as College Photographer of the Year 2012 for my portfolio
-
1st prize in Danish Press Photo of the Year 2011 for my short documentary about a farmer and his mom.
-
Examples of my long-term work can be seen on my website
-
Examples of my work at the Danish Daily, Politiken, can be seen here and here
Having traveled and worked professionally in more than 25 countries, among them Ukraine, Iraq, Iran, Syria, Bangladesh, Philippines, Nepal, USA, Canada and Mexico, I have developed a great understanding of our world and the people who live in it. Meeting and experiencing different cultures has helped shape me into an open-minded person who gets excited rather than scared about new and unfamiliar territory.
