command line tool to convert between formats?

I have a bunch of lua L4888 files that I need to convert to L4444, would it be possible to use the lua on your page as a command line tool to do that?

You can do it: have Lua installed on your PC and write some Lua code to read/write your files:

-- 1. prepare your bytecode as Lua string (load it from a file to variable original_bytecode)
-- 2. convert (the function bcviewer is defined in lua-bytecode.lua)
local converted_bytecode = bcviewer(original_bytecode, target_enbi)
