where to save package-list?

I have the same problem. Seems like mintbackup create directory ~/Backups on startup.
Maybe this issue title should be "Add option to change directory to save packages.list"

Interesting. My mintbackup asks me where to save the backup tar file itself, and the things I chose to backup (if you call that the packages.list) is saved in the dconf file. I don't have ~/Backups folder, it's stored in ~/Documents/Backups. And I have no packages.list anywhere.

Yes, it would be very useful to choose the location, just like any other programs.

Maybe we should define what version and what OS we are using. Granted we say mintbackup, but....
I'm on Mint 22 cinnamon. Be it 22.0 22.1 or 22.2, all the same.
And currently in 22.2, mintbackup is 2.4.6

I'm using the same.
It continues to save it in a predetermined folder instead of asking with a dialog.

And and the 2nd screen, just after you chose "back up now" you don't get a window that asks 'select where you would like to save the backup"?

In the 1st window you can select which app to include in the list. Then clicking to the "next" button leads to a one-liner, which says like "It is saved here and there.."
That's all.

And this is what comes next.

From there you can drill down to any location.
