Windows not displaying properly when using 200% User Interface Scale

Various windows like the Upgrade Manager do not permit the complete display of the window when using 200% User Interface Scale on a laptop. Can't see not can I scroll down to see the Next button. Works fine at 100%, but not 200%.

Steps to reproduce

Simple change to 200% User Interface Scale (using Settings > Display).

Then open the Update Manager.

Expected behavior

The Update manager should at least permit scrolling.

However, that would not be a sufficient fix as there are other windows that do not function properly either. Don't remember all of them at the moment.

Additional information

I am using an HP Omen Laptop with a screen size of 15.5".

The problem happens whether using the builtin Nvidia or Intel interfaces.

From the release notes:

System requirements:

1024×768 resolution (on lower resolutions, press ALT to drag windows with the mouse if they don’t fit in the screen).

If you use 200% scaling, you're effectively halving your screen resolution in terms of the GUI

btw: If you're using 200% scale for larger text, try increasing your default font size instead, and making your panel bigger, etc.

First, thanks for responding.

I am using 1920x1080.

And, no, the tab key does not help.

Also I mentioned Update Manager. Actually it was not Update Manager, it was the Upgrade window that was accessible from the menu of Update Manager.

If your screen resolution is 1920x1080 and you're using 200% scaling then your effective resolution is 960x540 which is less than the minimum (for comfortable use)

And, no, the tab key does not help.

Do you mean the Alt key? keep the Alt key down while clicking and dragging on the window with the mouse to move it around.

Actually it is very good for my tired old eyes. If I was to use it at 100% I would have to strain to make out the text. It is WAY too small.
When I connect my large monitor to my laptop then no problems using 100%.

Closing this since it isn't a bug. You are trying to run with a tiny effective resolution which is not supported. Probably better off trying to use some level of fractional scaling.

As far as I am concerned this IS a bug. If I use 200% or any other option presented by the distro it should present the screens properly. It is for reasons like this that Linux distros are never going to be ready for the typical user. I happen to be a bit more tech savvy than some. But, regardless of that this obviously does not work as it should. I expect to be able to see the full window or at least be able to scroll it no matter what resolution I use.
