histexpand broke

currently on the latest dev build of ksh93 and histexpand isn't really working despite it being set ? i don't know why at all

I'm using the latest dev build right now and history expansion is working fine on my end. I'm going to need more specific information to go on.

idk if my env vars have smth to do with this but this might've happened after i set my editor to be vim ? i'll double check for that

it doesn't seem to be that, however i tried ksh +E and turned on histexpand and everything was fine
nothing breaks it even with emacs mode set explicitly
