Issue Description

I'm using the preview version:

MSBuild version = "17.13.0-preview-24611-01+fc1f22bcf"

and when I use msbuild from cli I got this error.

If I build in VS all is good.

Steps to Reproduce

It should build.

Actual Behavior

It fails the build with "error MSB4025: The project file could not be loaded. Data at the root level is invalid. Line 1, position 1"

Thank you for reporting the bug.

The issue is caused by recent change associated with .slnx support.
While we are working on the stable fix, please opt out the problematic feature by using:
set MSBUILDDISABLEFEATURESFROMVERSION=17.14

We should:

• Make sure we propagate the error location (Line, Column) from the solution parser SolutionException into MSBuild InvalidProjectFileException
• Once the fix for this in the solution parser (Solution folders with duplicate ids should not error when reading sln… microsoft/vs-solutionpersistence#83) is published - we should consume the new version
• Backport the fix to 17.12 / 17.13 (or wherever we use the new parser for .sln files by default)
