Which Linux driver is required for SocketCAN compatibility? (SocketCAN is mentioned at the top of the page)
I bought several devices from Aliexpress that link to this GitHub page, but when I plug in the device to an Ubuntu 20.04 machine is see the following using lsusb:
Bus 001 Device 018: ID 1a86:e010 QinHeng Electronics HID To Serial
Looking in dmesg is see the following when plugging the device in:
[ 6830.102674] usb 1-5.1: new full-speed USB device number 12 using xhci_hcd
[ 6830.254016] usb 1-5.1: New USB device found, idVendor=1a86, idProduct=e010, bcdDevice=34.00
[ 6830.254024] usb 1-5.1: New USB device strings: Mfr=1, Product=2, SerialNumber=3
[ 6830.254028] usb 1-5.1: Product: HID To Serial
[ 6830.254031] usb 1-5.1: Manufacturer: WCH.CN 4
[ 6830.254034] usb 1-5.1: SerialNumber: 12345678
[ 6830.262475] hid-generic 0003:1A86:E010.0007: hiddev1,hidraw4: USB HID v1.00 Device [WCH.CN 4 HID To Serial] on usb-0000:00:14.0-5.1/input0
This appears to be an HID device, so is not compatible for example with the slcan driver.
