Beam geometries work strange since update

Since latest update (via Addon manager) formerly well working files do not load anymore within Freecad, which simply closes when loading them, without error report. I assume beam geometries seem to have changed, files load when the addon is uninstalled. When I do a pure 2d simulation with sketches in the xy plane, the radial beam always starts out of plane, pointing towards z direction with its cone. Changes in the placement field sometimes work, but after a while crash (do not react any more). Also, the number of rays does not correspond anymore to the system (20 columns, 1 row, indicated and 5 beams are displayed). Unsure whats going on. Checking the code indicates that some beams having a fixed focal point have been introduced, is that the reason?

I changed the way to update old projects. Please update the workbench and give a feedback if it is working now.
