Error launching vim "gnome-terminal -e vim"

gvim works just fine running on Ubuntu 12.04.2 LTS but would like to run just vim so
I've tried to set the "Vim command" to the following, similiar to the xterm example.

gnome-terminal -e vim

but when launching a competition room (just tried with practice SRMs) I get the following error.

ERROR: Failed to save the source given by the server: Vim process returned exit code 1.

Vim version is 7.3 (according to the readme you had tested with 7.2 so this should not be the problem). Any idea what the problem could be?

Try appending two dashes to the Vim command option, such as:

gnome-terminal -e vim --

I think the gnome-terminal argument processing is a bit different than other terminal emulators I've tested. If this works for you, I'll make a note of it in the documentation. Thanks for reporting the issue.

Yes, thank you, that did work. Vim opens with the competition folder set as current directory. I believe gvim also opens one of the files at start but that is not a big deal. Will try it out in the upcoming weeks and report any problems if I find them.
