Allow Box Module advanced background to use shortcodes

I would like to use the following shortcode in the Box module advanced background photo section - [wpbb post:featured_image size="full" display="url" linked="no"] - this works if you apply within a themer layout but not on a standard page. It would be useful to be able to show a featured image within a loop module, for example.

You can already use shortcodes in that field. However, currently you do need to turn on the Render shortcodes in CSS/JS toggle in the BB advanced settings in the WP Admin > Settings > Beaver Builder > Advanced.

We are considering removing the need to enable that toggle though, however.

We also are working on bringing field connections fully into that field. That will hopefully be available in BB 3.0 which we are aiming to have out in a prerelease later this year.

It doesn't currently work if added to a module that's just in a normal page. It will work if included in a themer layout though.

That would be a bug then not a feature request. Is your box module inside of a Loop module on a regular page or by itself?

The box module is inside Loop module on a regular page. I had already reported as a bug and was told this isn't possible and should be requested as a feature.

Well there's two things going on here actually.

1. The shortcode does work there currently in a box inside a loop module even on a page but it works in the context of the page not the loop item. We are going to look into this to see if we can address it.

2. The support rep looks like they were talking about full field connections which are coming but as I mentioned that is planned for 3.0 for the bg field and other complex fields like it.

The support rep was wrong about that toggle not applying to the box photo layer field. That is likely going to change though where you won't need to toggle that on to get shortcodes to render there.
