Pattern doesn't display on load in Safari and Firefox

Hi, I recently came across this library and it is pretty handy but it turns out that the patterns generated don't display on load in Safari and Firefox. I have to go in an interact/hover on the chart and then the pattern shows up. There has not been a lot of activity on this repo in a while so I am wondering if anyone else has come across this behaviour and how they solved it?

I am using patternomaly with the (typescript) react plugin (5.2.0) of chartjs(4.4.2)
