Such a button is the responsibility of the Markdown viewer to provide, and GitHub provides one for DIRECTORY.md; the Readme is short enough that this is unnecessary there. No need to clutter the Readme with even more HTML (I also just realized that we could turn some of the current HTML into Markdown...).
