This cookbook install playframework 2

Just include play2 in your node's run_list:

  "name":"my_node",
  "run_list": [
    "recipe[play2]"
  ]
}

To install another version of play, override default attributes in your node

{
  "name":"my_node",
  override_attributes(
    :play2 => {
    	:version => "2.1.0",
    	:checksum => "0eef88602d26409bb584536cedb585de"
    }
  )
  "run_list": [
    "recipe[play2]"
  ]
}
