Daily Dozen Tracker - Catholic Progressive Web App

A progressive web application for tracking Dr. Greger's Daily Dozen food recommendations (or a modified version of the recommendations), designed with Catholic principles of stewardship, temperance, and respect for the body as a temple of the Holy Spirit.

🎯 Purpose

This app helps users track their daily consumption of the healthiest foods while fostering gratitude for God's gifts and promoting responsible stewardship of one's health. It's inspired by Dr. Michael Greger's Daily Dozen checklist from NutritionFacts.org.

  2. Berries (1 serving) - e.g., ½ c. fresh or frozen, ¼ c. dried
  3. Other Fruits (3 servings) - e.g., 1 medium fruit, ¼ c. dried fruit
  4. Greens (2 servings) - e.g., 1 c. raw, ½ c. cooked
  5. Cruciferous Vegetables (1 serving) - e.g., ½ c. chopped, 1 tbsp horseradish
  6. Other Vegetables (2 servings) - e.g., ½ c. nonleafy vegetables
  7. Flaxseed (1 serving) - e.g., 1 tbsp ground
  8. Nuts and Seeds (1 serving) - e.g., ¼ c. nuts, 2 tbsp nut butter
  9. Herbs and Spices (1 serving) - e.g., ¼ tsp turmeric
  10. Whole Grains (3 servings) - e.g., ½ c. hot cereal, 1 slice of bread
  11. Beverages (5 servings) - 60 oz per day

🚀 Installation & Usage

  1. Open the app in any modern web browser
  2. The app will work immediately - no installation required
  3. Your data is stored locally on your device

Mobile Installation

  1. Open the app in your mobile browser
  2. The app will automatically show an install prompt if it meets PWA criteria
  3. Alternatively, tap the "📱 Install App" button in the header
  4. Follow the prompts to install the app
  5. The app will now work like a native app on your device

Desktop Installation

  1. Open the app in Chrome, Edge, or other modern browsers
  2. The app will automatically show an install prompt if it meets PWA criteria
  3. Alternatively, click the "📱 Install App" button in the header
  4. Follow the prompts to install the app
  5. The app will be available in your applications menu

Manual Installation Instructions

If automatic installation doesn't work, the app provides detailed step-by-step instructions for:
