I am currently a classroom facilitator at Code4000 Workshop at HMP Wandsworth, also doing web development work. My duties include:
- building frontend and backend web applications with students (HTML, CSS, Javascript, React, Node Express) and helping them in their learning by providing educational materials and teaching sessions, also helping with creating portfolios;
- teaching students Git, version control, how internet works, as well as Agile principles;
- maintaining and updating Code4000 websites (old version on Ruby on Rails, new on Wordpress);
- developing curriculum adding new educational modules for React, Ruby on Rails, and NodeJS;
- developing Code4000 own software for local use (created the app (NodeJS Express + Postgres) for processing students data in the specific prison offline environment);
- arranging visits and students group work with volunteer mentors from prominent software engineering companies (Palantir, Google);
- dealing with the client (HMP Wandsworth management) and making them happy by following all prison rules and procedures and keeping paperwork in accordance with their guidelines.
