This repository contains a collection of intent scripts designed to enhance the conversational abilities of your Home Assistant's voice assistant. These scripts allow for more natural and intuitive interactions with your smart home.
I'm currently using Qwen2.5:7B (via Ollama) to power these intent scripts! This model provides excellent language understanding and response generation, making your voice interactions even more seamless.
These are the steps required to get the intent scripts working.
- Home Assistant: Ensure you have a working installation of Home Assistant.
- Ollama: Install and run Ollama. You can find instructions on the Ollama website.
- Ollama Integration: Install and configure the Ollama integration in Home Assistant. This allows Home Assistant to communicate with the running Ollama instance. See the Ollama integration documentation for instructions.
- Qwen2.5:7B Model: Pull the Qwen2.5:7B model using the following command in your terminal after installing Ollama:
ollama pull qwen2.5:7b
- Music Assistant Integration (Optional): The play_music script requires the Music Assistant integration. Install and configure it if you intend to use this specific script.
-
Enable Intent Scripts:
Add the following line to your
configuration.yamlfile to enable intent script processing:intent_script: !include intent_script.yaml
-
Create
intent_script.yaml:Create a file named
intent_script.yamlin your Home Assistant configuration directory (usually~/.homeassistantor where yourconfiguration.yamlresides). This file will house your intent script definitions. -
Add Supporting Scripts:
The
scriptsfolder contains additional helper scripts that are required for certain intents. Add these scripts to your Home Assistant instance through the Automations & Scenes section (under Settings).Important: These helper scripts may need to be adjusted to match your specific entity names and device configurations. Review the scripts carefully before using them.
