Innocent Deckoks, whose name was borrowed from Brother Innocens De Kok; who was a very efficient administrator and a ‘perfectionist’ at Cardinal Otunga High School https://cardinalotungamosocho.sc.ke/about-us is a Christian Believer, an Earth Charter Young Leaderhttps://earthcharter.org/ & Young African Leaders Initiative Fellow https://www.yalieastafrica.org/ , a Founding Board Member at Kenya Green Building Society‘s Youth Chapter https://www.kgbs.co.ke/. He is the Founder of Eco-Sanctify Consultants Limited https://ecosanctifyconsultantskenya.co.ke , a company that seeks to embrace opportunities for positive environmental governance in the 21st century. He is a passionate Environmental Planner & Manager with over six years’ experience, who has a clear vision to merge development processes and environmental sustainability. He is a Registered Associate Expert of Environmental Impact Assessments and Environmental Audits in Kenya under the National Environment Management Authority https://www.nema.go.ke

He currently works at Centre for Climate Action https://centreforclimateaction.org/ as the Executive Director. He previously worked at ECAS Institute https://ecasiafrica.org/ as the Program Officer (Training & Capacity Building Officer). He has worked as a Business Development Officer at http://www.creosltd.com that provides energy conservation services to help organizations reduce their operation costs and reduce their carbon footprint altogether by targeting energy cost centers. He has also worked with organizations such as Youth For SDGs Kenya as a Project Officer under a ‘Climate Communication Project’ in collaboration with Africa Uncensored https://africauncensored.online/ and recently CARE International in Kenya https://www.care-kenya.org/ as the Project Assistant; The Green Climate Fund Project.

He was until the year 2022, the secretary of the Climate Finance Thematic Working Group, under Kenya Platform for Climate Governance; currently convened by Pan African Climate Justice Alliance http://www.pacja.org that sought to improve the capacity of civil society organizations on climate finance access and modalities. He served as a Volunteer Partnerships & Networking Coordinator at African Youth Initiative on Climate Change-Kenya from 2017-2022 and a is founding member under the Environmental Peacebuilding Association https://www.environmentalpeacebuilding.org/ as a Peace Ambassador. He is also an alumnus of the Young African Leaders Initiative https://www.yalieastafrica.org/

He is a deeply passionate champion for the realization of SDGs 1, 5, 7,11 and 13. His aim is to be a vital resource in the environmental restoration and conservation entourage and the wider scope of world peace. He intends to play a part by getting the necessary skills and expertise to build and improve the knowledge & technical capacity of youth and women towards embracing political and socioeconomic opportunities within their surrounding, to create value and improve their livelihoods.

He seeks to work in collaboration with stakeholders, towards sharing skills and expertise within this space to improve the environment and boost efforts of his region and the globe at large, to build climate resilience with a focus on sound human & environmental health.
