Welcome to

Who am I?

I tell stories that celebrate the resilience of Black women and children. As a children's book author and creator of The Deservitude Journal series, I weave together narratives that empower and inspire. When I'm not writing (or avoiding writing), I'm dreaming up magical worlds, building Other Side of the Wall (a nonprofit supporting families affected by pediatric brain tumors), serving on the Advisory Board of the Leadership Institute for Compassionate Changemaking, and yes, crushing it at my day job because medical benefits are cool.

My writing explores the intersections of motherhood, grief, coping in crisis, embracing new dreams (and old) at any age, and the messy journey of transformation – all through the lens of Deservitude. I share stories that illuminate life on the other side of the wall - the unseen moments, the quiet triumphs, the sacred spaces where resilience blooms – and I'm doing it 100 days at a time.

Join me as we explore life's complexities through both challenges and triumphs. You can expect a post every Wednesday-ish. (Sometimes life has other plans!)
